Christmas Offering

The Goal of our annual Christmas Offering is to provide 2 - 3 weeks of nutritious food and Christmas presents to those living under severe poverty conditions in DuPage & Kane County.

Each year since 1979, The Humanitarian Service Project served needy families & senior citizens in DuPage County.

Christmas 2008

We served 577 families with a total of 1,451 children!  150 families received 3 weeks worth of groceries and an average of five gifts per child.  In total, we distributed 23 tons of food!  Thank you to everyone who made this a success!

How You Can Help
With Christmas 2009!

Organize A Gift-Giving Tree!

We give you the names and ages of needy children, along with suggested wish lists items.  You purchase and wrap new toys and gifts for each child and bring your presents to our center where we will distribute them to the families.

Collect Non-Perishable Food!

We distribute over 23 tons of non-perishable food to needy seniors and Christmas families.  Can you help us by organizing a food drive?  See our Food Drive Suggestions for ideas!

Organize a Book Drive!

In addition to new toys and games, all of the children receive brand-new books. Contact us and we will provide you with a  list of names and ages of children that need your help this holiday season.

Plan a Toy Drive!

New toys and gifts are needed for more than 700 impoverished children.  Toys for 8 - 15 year-olds are most needed.  Please see our list of Suggested Toys for ideas!

Sponsor a Family!

With your support we are able to purchase food in bulk so that each family will have 2 - 3 weeks worth of groceries: 8 - 10 selections of frozen meats, 15 fresh produce selections of fruit and vegetables and 4 25lb boxes of non perishables. Each child receives 5 gifts for under the tree.

                         $60 for 1 Family

                         $120 for 2 Families

                         $180 for 3 Families

                         $240 for 4 Families

Your support allows us to purchase food at a bulk rate!
